Which Dermalogica Products Should I Use?

There are so many different brands of skincare out there and so much information and advice from a variety of different sources that it can often be quite overwhelming to try and make sure your skin is getting everything it needs in order to stay looking fresh, healthy and with that beautiful youthful glow.

But, arguably, one of the very best brands you can choose to invest in is Dermalogica, which was actually founded by a skin therapist, so you know you’re going to find solutions that actually work for you, no matter what kind of skin type you have.

The brand itself was established by Jane Wurwand, who is also the co-founder of the International Dermal Institute post-graduate training centres. Since the company launched, it has gone from strength to strength and is now used by over 100,000 skin therapists in over 100 countries around the world.

What’s particularly great about the products is that they’re personalised and highly customised skincare regimes can be created to help you address any kind of skin complaint you might have. Going to see a professional skin therapist with experience of using Dermalogica products is a great first step to take towards achieving beautiful skin.

The brand is also fully committed to sustainability, certified cruelty-free, vegan and gluten-free. The products’ formulas are all free from artificial colours and fragrances, alcohol, parabens, microplastics, lanolin and mineral oil, so you don’t have to worry about doing damage to your skin.

Which Dermalogica products should I use?

First of all, you need to establish your skin type, whether it’s normal, dry, oily or combination skin. The Face Mapping tool from Dermalogica will help you work out what kind of skin you have, so that you can then make more informed decisions about which products would be best for you.

If you have normal to combination skin, the pre-cleanse and special cleansing gel would be an excellent cleanser to go for, while the daily microfoliant would work well as your exfoliator. For moisturisers, consider the skin smoothing cream and, before you go to bed, apply the sound sleep cocoon for beautiful soft skin in the morning.

For those of you out there prone to spots and breakouts, try using the active clay cleanser, followed up by the daily superfoliant. Use the oil free matte moisturiser to offer you protection throughout the day and try the sebum clearing masque once or twice a week to provide you with targeted treatments and keep those spots at bay.

And if you have dry skin, you can help breathe new life into it with the precleanse balm, the intensive moisture cleanser and the intensive moisture balance. Give yourself an extra treat each week with the phyto replenish oil – and before you know it, your skin will look amazing!
