How Do You Use At-Home Skin Care Tools?

Achieving a salon standard facial at home has never been easier with the latest devices that are available, such as Flexi Skin Tools. Here’s a quick guide to some of the different types, what they do, and how to use them.

Microneedlers

What are they for?

Microneedling, also called dermarolling, is a quick and easy facial cosmetic treatment. The device rolls tiny needles across the surface of the skin, creating ‘micro-injuries’.  This might sound alarming, but it actually stimulates the production of extra collagen, which is the protein that keeps your skin smooth and elastic.

The result will soften the appearance of fine lines, and reduce pigmentation and scarring.

Dull tired skin will look plumper and fresher after one treatment.

How do you use them?

After your usual cleansing routine, roll in one direction 6-8 times in the targeted area, avoiding the skin directly around the eyes. Lift the device between each roll to avoid track marks. Repeat the rolls in the opposite direction, then wash your face again.

Skin Rollers

What are they for?

Face rolling tools are usually made of a crystal such as rose quartz or jade, and are used to massage the face. This helps to ease tension, and stimulate the lymphatic system to expel toxins, which can reduce the appearance of puffiness. They promote blood flow and tone the skin, lifting a dull complexion.

How do you use them?

Some rollers such as the Flexi Roller have two ends, a larger stone to roll across the forehead, cheeks, and jawline, and a smaller one to gently roll underneath the eyes.

Skin Sculptors

What are they for?

Influenced by ancient Chinese methods, skin sculptors are also made from crystal and designed to boost the circulation and aid lymphatic drainage in the face. They also help to define and tone the muscles around the jawline, reducing the appearance of jowliness.

How do you use them?

After cleansing, apply a serum or moisturiser. Working in firm strokes, draw the stone from the centre out towards the hairline or neck.
